The Royal Canadian Pacific travels through some of the most spectacular landscapes in the world. The beauty of the Rocky Mountains is legendary and draws hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. Canada is known for it’s pristine wilderness, it’s preservation of natural environments in an extensive National Park system, and it’s unique wildlife.
The Royal Canadian Pacific travels a 650 mile circuit through the Rocky Mountains from Calgary, Alberta. Scenery highlights include:
- Calgary – originally an outpost, this city has grown to house over 1 million people and is host to “The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth” every July, the Calgary Stampede
- Southern Alberta Prairie – this area used to be home to thousands of buffalo and has huge significance in the history of Canada’s First Nations.
